I am surprised that most of you are not mentioning the size issue. I can afford either camera yet I would never get a 1Ds simply because it is just too big. The 5D is much smaller and is much more of a "buy" for me ... it is almost the size of a 40D. What I hate most about the present day 5D is how dirty the sensor gets. You basically have to clean the sensor every time you go out for a high aperature shoot. I would buy a new 5D in a heartbeat if that alone was "fixed" or improved. Ofcourse Live View and many of the other goodies mentioned would be great too.

Canon 40D, 5DII, 5DIII, G9,G11,S100,G1X, Canon lenses 600mmL f/4 ,24mm-105L f/4, 16-35L II f/2.8, 70-200L II f/2.8, EF 100mm f/2.8, EF 50 f/1.4,17-85 EFS, 10-22 EFS, 580 EX, 2x 580 EXII, 270EX,STE2, 1. 4x Converter, 2.0x Converter. Nikon 800E w/Nikkor 24-70

All these rumours should just stop now. I have it on good source the exact date that the 5DMII will be released on. That date will be the day after I break down after being sick and tired of waiting for the 5DMII to be released and make an order for a 5D!

So, would you hurry up and order then!:lol::lol:

I noticed that on the specs it doesn't mention anything about SD cards. I'm thinking that with the advances on the SD front, the 5DMII might accept both CF and SD cards.
