I did a photo shoot tonight with the 20D and as I was trying to use fill flash with my 420ex the photos were overexposed a little. Anyway, I know the camera has flash compensation but I can't seem to find it...Dean

There should be a little button with lightening bolt and a +/- on it on the top of the body in front of the LCD and behind the command dial.

Yeah if you come from a Digital Rebel, you'll think it's the EC button, but it's the FEC button. To change EC you simply turn the big dial during or shotly after focusing. You probably already knew that.. but it was a gotcha for me!

I've since made it a habit of using the 20D on 'ON' vs. the line mode which enables the big dial. Especially when shooting portrait. It's too easy to accidentally crank up or down the EC.

Oh and by the way, I had some similar issues, so I picked up a 550 in addition to the 420. There's nothing nicer than quickly dialing in or bracketing flash output ON the flash!
