The ones with flash are very harsh, particularly the one of her putting on her mascara. You can't see her face at all. Were you using the on board flash or a speedlite? I like the first four. I think for a first wedding they aren't bad :)

I am super cool n' stuff.

Shadows were distracting. Did you bounce the flash? The dancing shot looks out of focus.

The outdoor ones came out good though.

In all honesty this is what I see.... It really seems as if the biggest issue was a lack of detail. The shot of the candle is a great example.. the label is peeling off. The dance shot is extremely out of focus and my eye is drawn straight to the left corner of the image where the door is sitting as well as the support beam that is sticking out of the groom's head.
The group photo is nice... however the lighting on others is just bad which led to distracting shadows and harshness! Also I am not getting a feeling of comfort from the couple.

thanks for the comments...i used the on board flash and it was a pain because it kept locking up on me :(

the mascara one looks weird because it was really yellow from the lighting and i used the auto color in PS

the dancing shot i think looks really out of focus because of the action i used....cause on my flickr it doesn't look as blurry - it looks like she's in focus, mostly her hair and dress. i tried cropping out the door but didn't like it at all...i dont knowwww. the one i posted on here does look bad compared to that one..i'll switch it and maybe it will look better haha

and the label was on the candle, it was just loose. guess i picked the wrong one to photograph haha

a more interesting shot of her putting on her make up would be to get her reflection in the mirror

A suggestion...

Get a separate flash and dispense with using the onboard flash unit. I have three camera bodies and have used the onboard flash once with each of them - just to ensure the darn thing worked in case I eventually wanted to sell the camera.

Any of the Canon 420ex, 430ex, 550ex or 580ex units as well as the comparable Sigma units will provide you with bounce capability.

Bouncing the flash using a diffuser will give you much better lighting. If cost is a problem, a used 550ex or even a used 420ex will work.

You can get even better lighting if you used a bracket along with bouncing the flash. However, you will see a far greater improvement between bouncing a flash and using your onboard unit than you will see between using a bracket with bounce flash and bouncing the flash that is attached to your hotshoe.

I don't think they are that bad. It is his first time and it was for a friend. If it was free I am sure they will be grateful. It depends on the B/G expectations. Yes, like me you still have a lot to learn, but I don't expect that to change. Always learning new stuff.

Your poses are very good. Out of the 8 about 4 are good. The others are ok. The suggestions provided are good. Onboard flash is not your friend.
