Hi All,

The winter of 2008 was a fantastic year for Snowy owl photography! Owls are now starting to migrate back to their breeding grounds thus slowly bringing an end to the season.

Here's a few to finish up the season.

Thanks!

Marc

I'd love to know how you got them so close . Those talons remind me of the time a Snowy pounced on me from behind a couple of years ago. I had to get a tetanus shot as his claws punctured the back of my head and neck. Ouch !
I was part of a group that was re-habiliting 4 birds , and the adult male didn't like my camera . Man can they ever pack a punch too ! Those little voles and mice don't stand a chance . They would die on impact.

Great light and details in these images Mark and lots of character in the 3rd shot. Excellent!

Good luck with the workshops next Winter. I have witnessed first hand your expertise and approach with this species and I think you know these birds better than anyone else.

Wonderful captures Marc, love the intensity and those talons are sharp in every way.

There is one thing though on my monitor the whites appear over exposed. And I know this can't be the case because your standards are very high. I'm assuming my monitor needs adjustment. Is anyone else having difficulty with the whites?
