Johnny, I think you'll find that Robert doesn't test things in a half-assed fashion; they are methodical and consistent. But, as he said, use the results as you deem fit.

Hawky, the only control in this test was the distance of the light meter. With so many other variables not accounted for, this would definitely meet the definition of "half-assed."

Guys, the testing was for OUTPUT CONSISTENCY, and not a comparison of flash power per se! Line 2 of the OP "These are not equipment reviews or comparison of features, build or specifications." Every table is labeled 'Consistency'...in fact, Robert only added the last table with Power output comparison, because readers badgered him into that. (They also tried to get him to compare color balance, but he had no time or interest left by then.)

So even if things were 'half fast', it did not have any effect on consistency. Setting a head on a stand, setting a meter on a tripod and then firing it 10 times using the ready beep of the flash (or a measured 6 seconds on the watch passed the beep) is, by definition, consistent test conditions. Ouput Consistency is not altered by how high a ceiling is nor how far away the walls were.

In short, I find that all flash gun manufacturers are very optimistic in their specs

I'm noticing that the table links have expired. Can these please be updated?

Thanks for noticing. I did some housekeeping and probably cleaned up what I should have left alone. :D

Any chance they will be restore? Was just looking up the data for a comparison and noticed they were gone.

Thanks for sharing anyway,

In my haste to clean my server I accidentally deleted the images that go with this post. I'm still looking to see if I have backups but I'm afraid I may not.
