I have a Dakine Sequence bag that i love...holds a lot of gear, thats not good for me because i felt the need to fill it. They are a little more than $100. I also looked the the burton zoom pack but i chose the dakine because it seemed to fit better and the camera block was removable. This gives you the option to just use a camera bag, just a backpack, or the whole works. Here is a burton in the FS area: https://photography-on-the.net …t=467460&highlight=burton.

I just purchased a lowepro slingshot to try and snowboard with in a few weeks...i think i will work better than the pack because i can sling it around to take shots and to sit on the lift. I only got the 100aw because it will be strictly for day shoots and not an all gear bag.

Here are a few reviews:

i tried to get the dakine photo block to squeeze into my dakine aproach pack and there was no way. and as far as the sequence and zoom packs, if ur goin to to spring hikes theres no way u'll be able to get ur camera, jacket, goggles, water , etc all in one of those packs. but as far as winter hikes and carrying around on the chair lift, perfect.

I've taken my Tamrac Adventure 9 before. It worked pretty well actually.

If you want to travel light, how about a LowePro Toploader 75? You can wear it over your chest to have your camera at the ready, holster-style.
