I'm about to push the button on a Pelican case for storage and I'm hoping I'm making the right choice in the 1610/1614. It's the 1610 with the padded divider set along with the 1659 photo lid organizer.

I hoping to gain the benefit of the experience of current owners of this set up. Is there any reason you might have made another choice, or anything I should know before I push the button? Thanks.

If you made the choice primarily to store your stuff in one place (at home, studio, etc.) as opposed to hauling it around all over places, then yes, you're getting the right thing. I love mine.

When you buy a tank, you're not happy because it's pretty looking but because.... well... it's a tank. ;)

Yep. In this case it's function over style.

No other opinions, so I guess all the other owners are happy with theirs too.

pinto,
Looking at your sig. it says " a boat load of other stuff" you might think about the 1654. I have the 1654 and I'm glad I spent the extra 50 bucks and went bigger.

Thanks, Claybuster, (Claybusting, that's something else I haven't done in a while. Talk about an expensive hobby!) I've got cases for lighting and an entire room for my equipment. I started out looking at something in the 1500 series size and then grew to the 1610. I think anything larger would be too big for what I currently want it for.
BTW I'm looking at Optics Planet, which with lower item cost and free UPS, comes out $50.00 cheaper than B&H. Of course it's currently on backorder.
