Wildman: what would be the need for new firmware on the Drebel? The version they have in it has been out for a long time now with no obvious problems by users. Companies don't spend money putting new features into software that aren't needed. The less firmware versions a product has the more profitable is it for them. Unless they make new firmware to be sold as upgrades to users.

Gone to black done before --

I purchased my G2 near the end of it's life cycle two year ago and within weeks they introducted the "limited Edition" Black G2. This looks like a trend to me, so I expect to see an updated Rebel before two long. (Feb-march?)

It seems logical to me that a new Rebel II would be de-featured D20 in a similar plastic shell. Probably Silver as well.
