OK, I understand how to multi-quote, but what I want to know is how do I cancel a multi-qoute if I decide not to reply to the thread after I've clicked the multi-quote button in multiple posts?

When you first click it, the button turns orange. If you unclick it, the button will revert to blue. Gear: Kodak Brownie and homemade pin-hole cameras. Burlap sack for a bag.

I'm trying to avoid backtracking through six, eight or ten pages of thread to deselect all the posts I clicked the button in. John

Multi quotes are thread-specific. So if you go to another thread you can have another set of quotes. If you have hit multi quotes and do not want to use them in reply, you can always delete the quote blocks in post editor. The Forum Boss, El General Moderator

Choose "remove" and they'll be gone. Choose Include and they'll be added to the existing reply. Jon

What I find myself doing is coming into a thread, primarily in the gear forums, and finding, as I read, I have something offer or an answer to a question. I'll click on the multi-quote button so I can add my comments at the end of the thread. Then I find, by the time I reach the end, that other posters have already said the same thing I was going to or have already answered all the questions. At that point I don't make a reply at all but I'm left with all the multi-quotes just hanging. John
