I was thinking the same. The second one looks too fake to me. I'll have to try something else with it. I am happy with the original, but just wanted to try something different.

the second one is damn close to being convincing. i think its the edges that give it away. the darkening on the tips is a dead giveaway. try to gently dodge the petals edges on a different layer.

First one is great.
The second one to me looks to be suffering along the outer edges of the flower, particularily along the very top edge on the left hand side seem to almost have a bit of a red glow.

I think I caught the edges in too much, that's why the red glow. Colorizing is a bit new to me, so I have to play with it some more. Thanks for all the great advice. :)
