If you're happy with the images that it produces then it's a "good copy". It doesn't matter what other people say or what the tests "prove".

Congratulations on your purchase :)

That image looks good, and at f4+ the text will be sharper and you'll like it even more!

Please keep posting impressions as they are made. I'm definitely interested in swapping my 28-135 IS for this lense. Thanks!

Here's a few I took from this weekend. This is just a lowely 65 Ford Shelby GT factory R. It was just purchased by a private party (who I know :) ) for over $600k. Number 2 off the line and Shelby's personal race car at that time.

Adam

Rather than link the huge images (click the medium version for the full thing) I'll just post the URL from this weekend's event. All of the Mustang images are taken with the Tamron. (except for the one of him on the track which was taken with my 100-400L)

Ok and I'm a sucker for this lens, so one more of my daughter sitting on the pool table. Full size is pretty huge but will help show off the lens. Focus point as around her lips.

Haha! I was going to say that, too. I have that same grill. It's a Weber. Man, that grill is trashed.
