Hello all,
I'm experiencing a problem with the internal flash on my G5.
When attempting to take a photo using flash the icon flashes but the camera won't fire. This happens in all modes from Auto through to Manual, eventually the camera freezes then shuts down informing me that the batteries need charging.
I've charged the batteries (I have two) using the camera and also a external charger and still experiencing the same warning messages when trying to use the flash.
There doesn't seem to be any problem taking normal photos and both batteries seem to last so I am assuming that its not the batteries which are at fault. What are the possibilities of two batteries failing at the same time? One battery which is 1 year old (the same as the camera) and the other about 6-8 months.
I've tried resetting all the functions back to default but that didn't help.
Would re-installing the Firmware help at all?
If anyone can throw any light on this problem I would appreciate it greatly. I don't use the flash that often but would like the option of doing so should the need arise. The camera is possibly out of warranty now I know I bought it last November but I'm not sure of the exact date.
Regards
David
