I'm in need of another bag/case now. Ideally I would like a backpack, but was thinking maybe a pelican case. I'm leaning towards the backpack since I could just carry it on my back while out in the field, but I dunno maybe a case would work just as well.

It needs to be big enough to hold:
rebel xt body w/grip
100-400L
500L (attached to the camera)
Future Sigma f2.8 lens, haven't decided which one. Something around 18-50 or 24-60.
430EX flash
1.5x tc
misc cards, cables, books, and other small accessories

My current backpack is a lowepro (don't know the model, it's black and green), but the camera with 1.5x tc and 100-400L attached just barely fits in the main compartment. Other lenses and flash fits on each side. But this bag won't hold the 500L so I'm needing one that will.

So anyone know which bags/cases would work? I don't see any future gear with the exception of that one lens as I'm trying to get down to a 3 lens kit.

Everyday use: 7D2, 1.4x v3 Canon TC (sometimes the 2x v2 Canon TC), Canon 500mm f4 L IS USM; 6D, 24-105L

I have the TT Airport Addicted, and it is indeed a large photo backpack. for carrying the 500 f4 lens, one of the main advantages is that the lower 1/3 of the bag is 8"deep. many photo packpacks are only 6-6.5" deep and the lens hood of the 500 f4 is more than 7". In fact the 100-400 is the same size as the 70-200 f2.8 IS, 8" long. Your 100-400 can fit vertically (endwise with the bag cover open) which saves a huge amount of space in the bag.
The airport Addicted was originally designed for event/sports pros carrying a 400 f2.8 500 f4 or 600 f4 on to a plane, then schleping the gear to the event. so it does this quite well.

The Airport security is the nearly the same bag with rollers.
The TT line is a bit more expensive, but really well designed and well made.
PS. Most recommend carrying a large lens like the 500 f4 not attached to the camera, as it makes the combination more vulnerable to knocks. However most with this lens use a 1D series body. If you search the forums you will find your bag question is a common one.
