I'm goning to be in Southern California for a couple of days and will be close to the Canon Service Center in Irvine. I'm hoping to stop by there and have them look at my 20 D and see if they reccommend the firmware upgrade ( I haven't had any problems without it ). Does anyone know if they can/will do this sort of thing "while you wait"?

Its good to keep your firmware up to date. Why not do it yourself. If you have a card reader it only takes a few min. Just follow the instructions canon posted.
