try bouncing the flash next time or use a softbox to avoid the blowouts on the plastic case. Also, the background does not do much for me. Perhaps an all black or even all white background would make the card stand out better. In addition, text seems a touch out of focus....umm, just thinking that you did want some technical comments on the photo didn't you? ;)

a friend told me to try to hold a piece of kleenex over the flash. does that sound ???

That might help diffuse the light a bit but I've never tried it! BTW your card looks in good shape and it's PSA rated. I imagine it could command a nice $$ or two!

The kleenex trick works pretty well actually, though I like to use something a little more durable.
Bounty, or a white coffee filter hold up very nicely.
Macro shooters use these options all the time, and it makes a big difference.

Oh man I cant pass up lookin at and sharing photos of Mickey Mantle cards.
Nice 61, fantastic year for Mick...and Roger.

I was fortunate to get a hold of a pretty good condition 56. Id like to have it graded but PSA will only grade cards for members and I really only want just this card graded. So Ill probably go with BVG.
