Canon Access Library 8 Problem

I have a SD1000 camera and I have found that the Canon Access Library 8 is not starting because the CALMAIN.exe file was not installed when I installed the software. I have searched both my computer and the install CD from Canon and cannot find the file. I was wondering if anybody could tell where this file is located on either my HD or on the install CD or if there is a place on the Internet I can download the file. I believe this is what is causing the problem with Camera Window not loading when I plug my camera into the computer. Thanks for any help.

The file should live in C:Program Files\CANON\CAL. If you haven't turned on "show Hidden and System Files" in File Manager, I don't know if it'll show up using Search. Try going into "Administrative Tools | Services" and see if the Canon Access Library 8 service is set to automatically start. The program's embedded in the installation package. I think your only recourse if it wasn't properly installed will be to uninstall and reinstall the SD1000's complete package. You might first try downloading and installing the latest version of ZoomBrowser and the camera drivers from the Canon website.

Thanks for the advice. I have installed the latest version of the Zoombrowser and for some reason it does not install the file. I am not sure how to uninstall the entire program since each section seems to have its own uninstall data. This not the end of the world since I can use other programs to get the pictures from the phone to computer, but I would like to get the Canon software to work as advertised.
