...yellow cast is there but will wait for actually reviews.

I have difficulty seeing yellow cast in a shot of yellow flowers....unless those were supposed to be white.

;)

Still a lot of buzz on this one.

What is the actual release date?

Think I will wait 6 months or so after release to see if price comes down any

What is the issue with bokeh? Unless I missed a shot I'm not sure how good a test that is, but even so it looks good to me

Yeh, all these crazy peeps trying to find something to bash, eh Davey?

Looks totally acceptable to me too. Not like the 30EX and 35L are that much different either http://www.pbase.com …s/image/71309114/original (external link)

What is that other laughable one? Oh year, the ring turns the wrong way.

I would no more care for a set of lenses where the zoom ring's rotation varied than I would if the mounting rotation varied. There are photographers, espically those that shoot sports or moving subjects where "oops, wrong way" could cost one the desired shot. Inconsistency with one's gear may not bother some , but many don't find it a "laughable " point.

I find that whole statement laughable to be frank. The ergonomics on my mk II N and 5D are almost totally diffferent and each key function is easy to remember now I am familiar. And there are far more complicated things in life that people get right continuously, like driving, cooking, hoovering, walking through a bust street. We are not all as dumb as you seem to think. Remembering to turn a ring one way for X and t'other way for Y is really not that hard at all ... I don't believed it's just me that is so touched with genius for ring turning! Whatever, thanks for looking out for those who may struggle with such complexity. Maybe they need to use their gear more ;-)a

Exactly ... absolutely nothing I have seen makes me think that this is anything but a very promising option. I mean, getting a 50mm fast prime isn't that hard. History tells us that. Stick decent build and HSM on the thing and should be grand.

I find this post as immature and rude as the one I had referred to. But those that don't have or can't make a good case just yell louder and get off subject, eh?

I made a case and a very good one. Your case is absurd in my opinion based on my own experience. You like to undermine and put people off an bit of dumb 3rd party gear. What was that other comment you made: what use is a 50mm on a crop body :lol: You hope fellow members don't read what I actually said and you seek to strike out and, again, undermine.

I prefer to let the people judge. Can most remember to turn a zoom ring one way or another? Or are they not capable of remembering to do that? As I said above, it is comical to think the average person can't do that. Can you do that? Doesn't take too much gumption and even less if one is thoroughly familiar with ones own gear.

Anyway, I am happy to leave you with your pro-Canon stance. It's not worth wasting my time further with you and not worth you getting all het up. After all, you know what usually happens :p

Hmm, that was pretty spot on and not particularly rude, in my humble opinion. Maybe it's because I'm mostly in agreement of what's being said but that was definitely a not off topic response to your claim.

But I'm also in agreement with your claim that personal preference is not a laughable point. It's just that though, a personal preference.

Oh, and the above was said in a moderately quiet tone. In case it came across as something else! =)

WOW people actually complain saying the ring turns the wrong way. You gotta be kidding me right. If you cant remember what your gear you have on there operates then you really need to do some mental remembering training. What happen if you are using a 100-400L and you are use to zoom twist..OMG you gotta pull it forward to zoom. THE WORLD is ending. Now enough about the whining of something soo insignificant and lets try to figure out when this is gonna be released and how much actual street price rally will be. I cant wait for this lens.

I remember posting on this thread once before and telling people to stick to the point of discussing the new Sigma 50mm f/1.4. If I have to intervene again, some people might find it difficult to post on POTN for a while...

Just double it give or take ... and remember we pay more than you guys for stuff, but by good shopping around we can cut prices we pay.
