This was kind of an epic shoot for me...shot the whole show, 268 clicks (not counting the opening bands). The lighting at this place (Frankies in Toledo) was sort of interesting. I've shot this venue once before, but I didn't quite realize what was going on with the lighting the first time. They have two banks of these weird LED lights. The lights can change colors in pretty much any pattern (unfortunatly they were kept constant during this show). The kicker though is that they blink at a relatively high rate, and all the lights in a bank seem to blink in sequence. So, for shutter speeds over 1/100 or so, you get random black frames.
I went off on a tangent with the PP, mainly due to the fact that the front light bank was red and the rear lights were blue...not really my favorite look.

Oh and the band...just brilliant. Saw these guys open for Queens of the Stone Age like five years ago, and they are every bit as good as they were then. Just pure, dirty, loud rock-and-roll minus the attitude, ego and all the bs that typically goes along with playing music on a stage.

Hard to pick just 8 (for once). More here (external link)

Let me know what you think of the PP.

Thanks.

WTB more highlights on your subjects :P

Mask out the lights on a levels layer and bring them up just a tad.

Otherwise I don't really mind the 'vintage' look that your PP / color troubles had.

What lens were you using, and about what settings were you using?

Thanks for the tip on masking the lights...I'll have to try that.

I was using the 17-55IS most of the time, but I was carrying the 35L, 85 1.8 and 135L with me, and used them all at times. For the most part I was at ISO3200, f/2.8 or wider, and shutter speeds between 1/60 and 1/160 (from what I can remember).

You can check out the EXIF on my zenfolio page (mouse over the top right corner) if it isn't showing up with an exif viewer.

#1: Nice moment, maybe brighten the guy a bit.
#2: Pose of the bass player makes #1 the better image IMO.
#3 & 4: Not special, but decent images.
#5: Nice moment, nice image. Maybe crop *a bit* tighter on the left?
#6: Nice. For some reason I'm missing the drummer here more then in 5
#7: Very nice close up.
#8: Okay, but would have been better if the bass player were turned a bit...

Solid set all in all, don't mind the PP, but am curious to the "original" colors ;)

I processed the above images in LR (we all know how LR loves strong reds and blues).

Here is one from DPP w/ WB set to 2700K...a bit underexposed I suppose, but I'm so paranoid about clipping channels.
