Will do. I can't believe I was worried about it being too big. I have only one or 2 empty slots.

Ha ha nice! And that's the way it oughta be! Filled with gear!

My wife loves it. Now I don't have to ask her is she knows where my stuff is.

Nice! Dang I wish mine would have come with the black dividers! I really like those so much better!

Thanks for the article as it is very confusing trying to decide what size case to get.

The 1624 is definitely my favorite Pelican case. I like the top tray feature, and how the dividers are layed out where you can store both long and short lenses. I also have the 1654 and 1514.

My g/f & I each have the 1624. One of the best photography investments we've made! Love the cases!! Hers is newer which has the black tray and liner.

This review is timeless. Thank you for helping me decided between the 1610 and 1620.

Although I opted for the 1614, seeing this helped me make the decision that I do not need the top layer divider. Thanks!

I've been researching what case to buy over the past few days and this thread has been very helpful.

Really made me ask what I wanted to be able to do.

Love the tray feature of the 1624 and 1664. Both have only a partial tray and there are some areas that have the full height available. I like that over the 1634, for example.

The 1624 is the largest you can have checked on an airplane. I'm not sure I'll need that though, so do I care? I have a nice crumpler bag that fits a ton of gear that I can carry on. Or I could see getting a 1514 some day if I needed to. Don't think I'll need this much for travel.

I want something I can have stored at home and take with me locally. The size/weight of the 1664 is a bit concerning even for local travel. But its length is the only way I could accommodate my Gitzo tripod, with or without ballhead.

To be honest I started typing this post practically decided on the 1624 after all the great comments but am back to thinking about the 1664 again. I want to have one place where I can put most of my gear, except stands and perhaps a PLM.

I'm not sure I even have enough gear to really make the 1664 necessary. The 1624 seems like the right size for all but the tripod. Hmmm... perhaps an opportunity to buy more toys.

Also, I understand that the dividers only come in black now. Unfortunate because I figured it would be easier to see small items that might kick loose at the bottom if they were up against a lighter color, rather than black.

So yeah that's me thinking "out loud" I guess.

My first attempt at setting up the Pelican 1624. I think the next step is the labels.

1) I have too much stuff!
2) Weight 68 lbs
3) I have too much stuff!
4) There are still some items I am not sure whether I should put int he case, mostly speedlite modifiers
5) I have too much stuff!

I've lurked on POTN for a looong time. And I don't know how many times I've referenced this thread. I finally did it and got the 1624 to replace my 1514 for home storage. I've been using the 1514 for shooting out of my trunk and it is very nice to have two cameras with white hooded lenses at the ready.

Now, my 14 lenses and three bodies have an organized place to call home. Thanks, Ben for the thread.
