Just my 2 cents, I bought a new Archos605Wifi in HK last year. Some of my photos corrupted (about 5 out of 3000 odd files). Something to keep in mind. It also crashes frequently.

Add the EOS 40D to that list too and I'd expect the new Mark III's also. Its reading the embedded JPEG is all. Its my understanding that the Epson is the only one that does this.

The epson only reads the embedded jpg file.

can anyone confirm that the p3000 reads raw files from the 1d mark III or do i have to wait till mine arrives :D?

ed rader

It reads the raw files from my G9 and it never said it would support the camera. I believe it reads the jpg files.

Look at the new hyperdrive. Its got a much bigger display than the old ones, is much faster than the epson (I have the p-3000), reads more on a battery, and is smaller too.

Yes, my old FlashTrax shows the 1D 3's and 5D's RAW previews and it predates both those. I believe it only extracts the embedded JPEGs from them, and I'd be surprised if any of the third-party digital wallets did anything different.

I think it makes a good adjunct to an Epson. You can connect the hyperdrive to the epson (IIRC) and move files back and forth between the two.

[GIFS ARE NOT RENDERED IN QUOTES]

with UPS it's always a crapshoot....:D.

well i got the epson P3000 today and my first impression is very favorable.

-- build is excellent*

-- controls are simple and intuitive*

-- LCD is fantastic*

-- 40-gig capacity is a bit light *

-- downloading RAW files from a CF card seems slow

overall i really like the epson P3000....i like it MUCH better than the digital foci porter elite that i sold except the digital porter had a 120-gig hard drive.

okay i have a few questions..........

1) how long does a battery last?

2) are the ebay batteries okay....from who?

3) i imagine i can use the unit as a battery charger, rather than buying another charger?

4) how long does the epson P3000 take to download an 8-gig card?

thanx :D!

ed rader

* unlike the digital foci porter elite....
