What john said :)

I'll put up with the slow transfer rate, but this unit takes chimping to a whole new level :)

Hopefully it won't be long though before 4" screens are at the back of a camera :)

That being said, the prices of memory cards are slowly making these devices extinct (if it hasn't already done so)

120gb is the absolute maximum you will be able to upgrade the Epson P3k/P5k, anything else will just be a waste, 160gb, you will see 126gb iirc and you will see the same for a 250gb, it's something to do with the hardware.

Thanks for that info, mR_CaESaR... Looks like I'll be upgrading my P-5000 hard drive to a 120GB!!! Hhehehehhee... And to add to the discussion... Once you see the picture quality on an Epson, you'll be sold... At least that was the deciding factor from me when I was determining the decision on which portable storage unit to purchase... But to each his/her own... Hhehhehehhe...

You haven't tried to store 21Mpixel image files, obviously! ;)

That 1.5 weeks has passed.....

If you'll accept a Colorspace O review from someone else...

I bought the casing and a separate 250Gb HD for a three-week trip to Africa. The device is solid, the screen is excellent. The controls are a little wonky and take some getting used to. Although it's more difficult now with the control layout than in the past, it's still possible to turn the machine on without knowing you're doing it and run the battery out. (I know; I did it!) It recharges quickly at least...

Downloading a full 4Gb SDHC takes roughly 12 minutes with verification on (I never tried it without verification).

Connecting it to the computer, it's seen as an external hard drive and you can copy to/from using Windows Explorer or similar file manager.

In total, I backed up 6600 images and videos from a dSLR and a P&S and not one was corrupted in any way.

In sum, I am very happy with it and would recommend it. (But be careful how you carry it so you don't turn it on by accident...)
