Hi,

I am using LightRoom 1.4 and an HP 7350 printer. I have my monitor calibrated, Color Management managed by the printer, but my prints still come out looking a little flat, with rather pale skin tones compared to what I am seeing on my computer screen.

Does anyone have any tips for how to use LR with my 7350? Should I, for example, turn off all the "HP Digital Photography Options" (Contrast, Sharpness, Auto Flash, etc.) in the printer setup?

I have seen the Canon PIXMA® Pro9000 with a rebate at Adorama. Would it be worth upgrading my 7350 to the Canon PIXMA® Pro9000?

Thanks,
~Dom

7350 --> 9000 is exactly what I did for exactly the same issue.

AFAIK, the 7350 is not capable of working with profiles. Or at least, it cannot work with them to the extent the 9000 can.

Also, I've found that the print plug in for CS3 is almost fool proof. Get your image the way you want it on screen, pick the paper and size you're using via the plug in and get a perfectly matching print probably 98.5% of the time. The 1.5% failure rate is simply due to the perception of certain images on glossy vs matte paper. Some shots just don't look right on one or the other...

HTH...

Hi. I do not have CS3, I only have LightRoom and Corel Paint Shop Photo Pro XI. Will LR work well and give me better results with the Canon PIXMA® Pro9000?

Thanks,
~Dom

I have a HP D7360 and use LR. I had the same issues and eventually called HP. Flying Photog is right. You can't use profiles with these printers. You can use trial and error to try and get your results closer, but thats about it. If you are wanting to absolutely match output to your monitor, the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 might be worth while.
