I just got my Bogen 055XPRO tripod. I wanted to post pics of it to show people who are buying it how tall it is. Before I bought it, different places had different heights for it. I wanted a tall tripod because I'm 6'2. So here I am with my new tripod and my sister taking the pic. Sorry if the pics are not that good, but its my sister taking the pic.

Looks alittle small for you, depending on the head you plan on using...probably need to raise the center column up a bit to reach you.

Seeing this make me happy i went with a bigger tripod..im about 6'1". My Slik can reach above me with the center column raised at all.

I love my 055XBPRO/488RC2 combo, being 6' 6" it works really well at all heights.

I bought the 488RC2 head, but it didn't come in today.

By the time you put the head and camera on the tripod, you will discover that the height to the viewfinder is much closer to what you need than what you see now.

Wow. The tripod's taller than I thought. This combo with the 488RC2 is what I've been considering too and I'm 6'3 so it's good to see some comparison. Thanks! :D

The 055 is very similar to the Bogen 3021, which was long suggested by many as the tripod of choice for taller shooters (6'+). The 190 is very similar to the Bogen 3001, which was the hiker's tripod of choice and for those of lesser stature.

Thats why I posted the pics, so that everyone can see how tall it really is. I will post some more pics once I get the 488RC2 head. Sorry for the pics not being clear, but my little sister was the one behind the camera.

looks awesome...i completely underestimate the size of it ...looks like you would just have to raise the center colum 3-4" to reach your eye level.

Thanks for the images. Your post pushed me over the edge. I picked up an 055XPROB yesterday at, of all places, Ritz Camera. Their price turned out to be about $2 less than the shipped price from B&H. I'm 5' 9" and it is just about perfect. In fact I may have to drop the legs a bit. I'm using the same head you have, 488RC2.
