Great illustration photos, Jose, thanks! Seeing the "completed" height of a tripod/head combo helps a lot when shopping.

I have the 055XPROB also and it suits me perfectly, I'm 6'3". With the crappy 3025 3D head I have right now, I only have to raise the center colum a few inches to have it at eye level. www.garyhebdingjr.com

I'm borrowing a friends 3001BPro / 3030 head right now, I've never used a tripod before this. I'm just a hair under 6'1". I was under the impression that the 190XPRO would be right for me, but now I'm not so sure. No, 3001 or 190 would be a bit on the short side for you. I suggest 3021 or 055 You need to give me OK to edit your image and repost! Keep POTN alive and well with member support https://photography-on-the.net/forum/donate.php

The only experience I have, very limited at that, is a Manfrotto 3030 3-way head that I'm currently borrowing. Sorry, have nothing to comment on, regarding ability of the 3001/190 to carry the load of a certain long lens. I only related the suitability for photographers of different height. Or even if it's fully extended the camera's viewfinder will be at the right height level? XTi - 18-55mm - 50mm II f/1.8 - 24-70mm L f/2.8 - 10-22mm

I am a pretty strong lad so weight is not a problem for me. Take a look at them both at a store and see how you feel. Took me ages to decide between the two actually. Thanks for the input, I've been going back and forth for a while now. I'm almost ready to purchase the legs and a ballhead, just waiting for the IRS to send me some money. . . Canon 30D Gripped
