First game of the season, brrrr, it was cold out there in northern Illinois. Shooting with a Canon 30D and 70-200 2.8L with 1.4 TC. ISO 250 f4.0 1/3200, daylight white balance with a +1/3 exposure compensation shooting through a chain link fence.

Great - great action shot in the fist photo. That is one you need to submit to the NFCA, that'll make their calendar!

Thanks, I appreciate that. I think the shot is alright but you can't see their faces. Who is the NFCA?

Yeah, I agree about the faces ... but ... you can see the ball, the tag and the action as well as the flow of the action.

National organization for softball coaches. They accept photos each year, they use 12 for their calendar. All coaches get it. It is a big thing in D1 and all college softball as well as high school.

You get no pay, but it's cool.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely look them up.

A bunch of equipment with Canon on it and some stuff with Sigma on it. The desire to capture a moment in time and share it with you! :)

Thanks very much. I thought the face of the player making the tag was a bit soft but I was using a 1.4 TC and it didn't dial in as fast as I would have liked.
