I was wondering how I could get shaper pictures while shooting. I do not wish to use a program to sharpen the pictures. I have a rebel xti and 2 lenses: 17-40 f/4 L and 50 f/1.4. thanks

Rebel xti, grip, canon ef 50 f/1.4, canon ef 17-40 L, speedlite 430, rebel t2

Go to the menu 2nd tab and choose Picture Style, scroll down and choose User Def.1 and click the JUMP button. This will allow you to change sharpness, contrast, saturation and color tone, when done hit SET.

Also use a tripod with a remote shutter when available for super sharp images, use a higher shutter speed with good light. You definitely have great glass.

Good Luck!

Do what? Change the settings? Look in your manual, otherwise shoot in RAW and you can change the settings using you Canon DPP (digital photo professional) disk.

Bummer, I know Canon has it on the website but I think it looks for the installation before it will install the update. Maybe someone here knows how to download it another way. Otherwise you should be able to change your sharpness setting via the menu.

I have only been using DPP for about 6 months, but I haven't had any trouble with it on Vista.

Then you'll have to set your camera settings to do more sharpening in camera.

I've had no problems with the last two versions running on Vista. The latest version is 3.2.04
