Meet Maverick, he's a mini, but on the large side for a mini. He has a somewhat unusual lack of white on his face for a blue merle.

Do any of your Aussies ever "grin"? When Sam greets someone he likes he'll pull his lips back and bare his teeth. Looks rather fierce till you get used to it. Here's a noisy shot I took as we walked in the door after being away for a few days. He'll do it every time for us if we've been away or even for the dog sitter. We had heard that some Aussies do this and of the four Aussies we've had he's the only one that does. Have any of you seen yours do it?

I've had 3 Borders and 2 Aussies and both Aussies had the grin! It is a submissive behaviour -- they'll do it for anyone they think is Alpha.

Here is Maggie's... we've encouraged it and now she'll do it more on command of "where's your dentures?!"

Very funny, "where's your dentures", love that. I bet that's a hit at parties.
