I'm pretty amazed myself with this lens, handheld at any point in the whole range. I took these pics over the Easter Weekend during my trip to New York. Do they look sharp??? These are the size that the pictures appear on my Flickr account - I haven't done any 100% crops yet...

Looks pretty typical from this lens, as far as one can tell by these.

Nice! I am still debating over non IS or IS. I always change my mind between those two.

It looks like you have a good copy. As for me, I would take pictures of the B&H store on a trip to NYC....my wife disagrees though????

My wife actually agreed to go to B & H with me, but unfortunately I found out that they were closed on Saturday and we were going home really early on Sunday (didn't try on Friday :( ).

Plus, I had a free 'gift' from B&H if I spent more than 50.00 because of an offer through the ticketing office for the Empire State Building!

All handheld - I just couldn't justify the extra 600 CDN (roughly) for IS...

No sharpening at all on those - a bit of tweaking to WB and a bit of exposure adjustments...

I'm very very happy with the lens - it is stellar. Now the L fever is kicking in, and although I'm also very happy with the Tamron 17-50 f2.8, I think I might need to pick up a 24-70 or a 17-40 L....Not for a while though - our first baby is due in 5 weeks!

WOW!!
I've been debating between the 70-200 f/4 L and the 70-300 IS. Same price point. Can I assume those were taken at fairly high SS?

They look great. The 70-200 f/4 is a fantastic lens.
