Ever had one of those days when the harder you try the wose it gets. Seems I couldn't hit the side of a barn yesterday at Blenheim (top of the South Island here in NZ). I got all the shots I needed but most of them lacked that "zip" that I'd prefer to be sending out. It looked like it was just going to be an average day until I found (not that anyone had actually lost it you understand) a corner bathed in afternoon sunlight.
Only one small problem, the TV company had also found it and kept asking me to work further and further along the fence line so as not to be in "their" shot. But that is why, I explained to the Financial Controller later that evening is why I need bigger and bigger lenses.
Enough prattle - photos ....

4. The things people think about on the dummy grid. One of the guys I work with says he falls sleep waiting - some stretch out - other it seems take a moment to look around

8. Last but not least by any means ... It is never over until it is over. Ryan Urban (below) was the class of the Open Series all day long. In the final he just drove away from the rest of the pack. Watching his kart in the last 10 laps however it looked to be way to tight. It wasn't sliding, rather jumping around the corners. Last race of the day - for the championship - Ryan is in the home straight on the final lap and has lost a lot of the massive lead he had but looked to be home and dry when right hand rear wheel lets go and the kart dives off the track. Ryan literally crashes over the finish line and comes second by 0.067 of a second - Fat Ladies and all that. The kart came to a stop roughly 2 feet over the finish line.
