 oh so true. I know a guy who seems to equate a sharp, in-focus photo with a 'good' photo, as if it's some kind of achievement.

For some of us Perry, it is a big achievement. :D

Some days it's an achievment for me to take any pictures at all!

Damn! This comic strip rocks:D

For a person who is new to photography, I think that good (i.e., expensive) equipment will increase their chances of getting good snapshots, as opposed to composed photographs.

I inadvertantly caused a similar thread to be hijacked when I referrred to "crap" as something considered by some to be "art"...

With the word good being relative to the person in question..We all have different tastes..

Apparently not all the time...Teenagers have brains, many are brilliant academically, but often times do not use them to think clearly at all, for non-acedemic purposes!

How long is this thread going to last.

You have to be able to SEE to take a good photograph....
The camera is just a way to capture that vision. IT JUST A TOOL.

Another thread has decisively established that you can be a pro photographer if you: 1) Take a 3 day training course for WalMart or 2) Hire on with a cruise ship and get picked to take portraits of the tourists.

All you need is a cheap camera and some lighting and you also can take good pictures:)!

Can anyone explain why there is an obvious prejudice against folks who have top end equipment and can't shoot a lick?

Can't a guy just have a little fun?
