Just updated my 40 STM using my 5D4, which isn't listed. No problem. On the Canon UK site here are the compatible cameras:

Canon EOS-1D X, Canon EOS-1D C, Canon EOS 5DS/5DS R, Canon EOS 6D, Canon EOS 5D Mark III (*1, *2), Canon EOS 7D Mark II, Canon EOS 70D, Canon EOS 760D/750D/700D/650D/10​0D or EOS M/M2/M3/M10

I would guess that any EOS camera body after about 2014 would work.

Canon have now relesed firmware updates for the 5D Mark IV, 5D Mark III, 5Ds, 5DsR and the 1DX. These updates address the vulnerability detected in the camera's PTP and firmware update protocols.

Firmware Version 1.3.0 incorporates the following enhancements:

1. Enables 2nd curtain shooting sync during radio transmission wireless flash shooting when the Speedlite EL-1 flash is attached to the camera.
2. Enables manual flash output (excluding high-speed sync and optical transmission wireless flash shooting) to be selected and set up to 1/8192 from the camera menu screen when the Speedlite EL-1 flash is attached to the camera.
3. Improves compatibility of HEIF images recorded in the camera with MIAF (Multi-Image Application Format) standards.
4. Fixes the phenomenon that may result in the occurrence of time-out under certain conditions during FTP transfer.

Firmware Version 1.3.0 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.2.1. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.3.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
Once the EOS-1D X Mark III is updated to Firmware Version 1.3.0 (or later), it cannot be restored to a previous firmware version (Version 1.0.0 to 1.2.1).

As an aside, the windows download failed when I tried to copy onto the camera using the EOS utility - but the MAC version worked ok. (Or at least it seems to be at the moment!)

Canon appears to have just pulled the R6 Update, it's disappeared from every site. I'd NOT install it until we have more info.

Interesting. I noticed some issues with the R5 and face-detect today after installing the update last night. I'm going to do some checking to see if it was my mistake or a camera error.
