So can I substitute a Delaware Blue Hen (and a Villanova Wildcat)?
I took the new Mark III out for its very first test drive this weekend. I figured I would jump right in the deep end by shooting a lacrosse game (which I have never shot before) and what the heck, lets make it a night game.
I was varying the AI Servo sensitivity and expanding the focus point from center to surrounding. I still have not decided which combination I like best. After the sun went down, I turned on ISO Safety shift and shot in Tv mode at various shutter speeds. I think I like the safety shift because the field lighting is not uniform and if the action moves to a darker area, you keep a usable shutter speed and the ISO is increased automatically.
I was actually getting some blinkies while chimping, so I turned on Highlight Tone Priority for part of the second half. That seemed to work pretty well and I didn't notice too much more noise in the shadows.
This weekend I'll have to try something easy like a day game.
