Taken with the 400?

Nice shots, my only niggle would be exposure particularly on 2.

Yup taken with the 400. Backlit unfortunately, a better beamer and flash would have helped, but there still a little way down my equipment wishlist. :D

Now that i have a spot to shoot from, i just need to get the tides right for the morning light.

Cheers h. ;)

Thanks Balliolman. ;)

I've still got some more to process, but #2 was probably my fav, action wise.

Hi Beano,
I now live in Fueteventura, but originally lived close by, in Braunton. Surf photography at Woolacombe or Croyde is best in the morning when the sun is behind you.

I am lucky in Corralejo, as the best conditions are on the North coast, with the sun always behind....

Roy, not only are your photo's better than mine, but you live in Fuerteventura.... I hate you! lol! :p

Yeah i noticed that with the sun. Now that i've found i nice spot to shoot from, i just need to get the times n tides right. I'm heading back down in three weeks, so hopefully i'll get some better shots then.

Like number 2 a lot - but I have a penchant for wipeouts anyway.

In terms of tips...you would not believe the amount of time I spend not taking photographs but watching what people are doing. Sure you miss shots but you learn a lot about what to watch for...timing.

also don't be afraid to use continuous shooting.

The most important piece of equipment I take with me when I go taking photographs is the pair of eyes I was born with.

Beano, thanks for the reply.

I used to video surf from Down-end at Croyde...standing on the rocks when the tide was close to up, and the sun behind at mid day.

Any thoughts on the composition on this one? Too tight? Not enough action?

Maybe a little too tight, some more headroom would improve...just MPOV.

That wetsuit...I guess the water temp must be something like 8-9c?

In Fuerte its coldest is around 19c :-)

I was thinking along the same lines, although i can't remember if this was full frame or cropped!?! I'll have to take a look at that.

I'm not 100% sure what the temp was, i think about 6-8C; cold enough to persuade me to give it a miss anyway lol!

I'm already jealous about the Fuerte thing.. No need to rub it in! :p

Fuerte has a good swell forcast for the end of the week, and I will post some more shots if I can escape the office :-)
