Wild Horses of Corolla, NC

I was fortunate enough to come across one of these on a recent trip, and was able to get a few shots. Comments & criticism are welcome!

Nice shots. I like the portrait. Would be nice to see a wider enviroment shot as well.

I try to get out often to shoot the mustangs out here, although my last outing took a bad turn.

I love shooting wild horses (with my camera). These are great shots. Not too common to get that close to them!

MetalT- Thanks. I prefer the portrait shot as well, but I am submitting some shots for a fund-raising calendar, I suspect that a landscape orientation will work better for that application.
Dixie- I was surprised at how close I ended up. I started about 30 yards away, then as I moved around, the horse actually approached me. I guess they are a little too used to humans, it seemed like maybe he was expecting me to give him some food. He would have come close enough for me to touch him if I had let him. I am not an expert, but the word is to not assume that they are tame.
