One year of photography-> portfolio question/critique?

Alright, well I have finally passed the one year mark in my photography career. I started looking at photography as a hobby but now I hope to one day make a career out of it. I am 16 years old and I hope to one day be a commercial and sport photographer. I have never been in a formal photography class, I have only learned through the critique and criticism of others online. I do however plan to study photography in college and hope to TA a digital photography class my next year (senior year in HS). With that being said, I would really appreciate to receive a brief (or in depth) review of my portfolio for my first year in photography. I understand this is asking a lot, but it would really mean a lot to me. I hope to learn what I need to improve on and what I should strive for in my future endeavors. Thank you kindly. Not much more to be said - Good portfolio. I will admit, this makes me feel real old - and I'm only 20.

Not too shabby at all! Very nice stuff there, you're young enough and talented enough to make a go of it, I envy you. Go out there and get it! Good Luck!!

My God! You're only 16?! I am so jealous ... I have been doing photography for almost 30 years now, and you blow me out of the water! Go to college, learn as much as you can, you really can make a career out of it!

im only just turned 17 and its my 4th month with a camera
i shoot for a graphic design company doing contracting work and i have my first wedding in less than a month!

btw 16 here.

u have some really nice pics there. i did the same thing, waited till my senior year to take photography class in school. bad move. o well u kno. lovin the night portraits in the woods. i would suggest redoing that one of the black kid, there isnt enough light on his hair and his head just flows into the darkness of the woods. but besides that, its amazing. the slide show started and i thought i was looking at a magazine.

You have a great mix of images, all well executed. I would think this translates to a good eye and a good understanding of light. Keep it up, you've got an excellent start IMO.
