So if I had a D30 and a 10D side by side taking a picture of the same thing in RAW. Then I resize the pics to say 900x600 for web presentation. Will the 10D pic have much better details than the D30 pic? Thanks

theoretically yes, but you lose details when you save as a lossy JPEG, and you also lose details when you do a resize and save lossless. so it's not really something you should concern yourself with if your images are only going to be 900 x 600. you might even consider shooting D30 at medium size.

If you are planning to resize to something like 1024 * 768 and use a limited colour palette, which is typical for web presentation, it will make no noticeable difference.

I wouldn't even shoot RAW. A D30 on large fine or medium fine quality with the sharpening and saturation set to max would produce some very acceptable JPEGS that could pretty much be posted straight to the web as a typical web page image.

The extra quality of RAW and the extra pixels from a 6mp sensor instead of a 3mp will only make a difference if you want to use the same images for other purposes, or you are planning some kind of gallery on the web where users can download much larger, higher quality versions.

You'll be fine with the D30. Although I've upgraded to the 10D now, I am still very satisfied with the quality of D30 images I have on my web galleries, for example:

FYI, all these were shot in raw, converted, post-processed, and downsized. I can't comment on suggestions by other posters about using diffrent flavours of JPG.
