Phil says in http://www.dpreview.com …orum=1019&message=3365235 (external link) that he removed messages because of NDA (non-disclosure agreement). I sure can't be so that NDA governs all posts by others to the forum, too?! Why has he let people speculate on and on about all present and past models using thousands of messages so far?

He can do whatever he wishes to, but there should be some logic in it.

I wouldn't think that the NDA would cover people that Phil has no control over... unfortunately it seems that this action on Phil's part is casting doubts in people's mind about the integrity of the whole web site (if you give a little here, what's to stop you giving a little leeway when you're reviewing a camera???).

Let's hope this is an isolated incident!

Actually, Rudi, today (09-11) is a VERY GOOD day to stand up for what you feel is right. Good job.

This one's obviously stirred up some emotions. It's good to see that I was not alone!

I'm sure Phil has some very close arrangments with Canon which allow him to get all the previews of all the new bodies that he gets. I doubt he wishes to endanger that relationship by allowing his site to contribute to the speculation. Just a thought.

Not a consideration at all in this case, since there was no *speculation*! Canon released the info themselves!!!

Plus, there have been several threads, containing PURE SPECULATION, on DPreview previously that have been allowed to live out their life in peace. All the more reason to suspect that this decision to censor was, in itself, questionable!
