Yesterday I was out shooting landscapes at a nearby park (I really don't get to shoot as often as I'd like) and for the first time I got talking with a guy walking his dogs for a couple minutes. We were just making small chat, but I was thinking after he left that I should've given him my business card (which I just ordered and haven't even given any out yet!). Anyway, I thought it might be kinda weird, but the main reason I didn't is because my site is pretty crappy looking right now, and also because the navigation is such that he would have to delve into it to find the photos I took that day. Anyways, I got thinking about it and decided a blog would be perfect for this: I could upload photos and a short bio from each shoot I do (mostly landscapes) and if I met people during it, I'd just say "Hey, I'm going to post the photos on my photography blog later tonight, so if you want to check them out you can here" and hand them my card - or some variation of that. That way, the blog would always have the photos from that shoot on top and I could provide a little info about the shoot. Awesome. So now I'm thinking about just getting 100 cards with my name and my blog name on them to casually hand out to people (since the other 100 cards are my main website). I was thinking the moo cards would be perfect for this.

Anyway, just wondering what people's experiences are with dealing with handing out cards like this to people who don't really ask for them, and also how people like the MOO cards. The price is kinda steep... $20 + shipping for 100 cards, so maybe I will wait till they have a little deal or something.

I use them as business cards and like them. They are different from typical cards. Problem I had is that the template on their web site is not clear and even after doing proper cropping, they cropped off part of my pictures.

I just print cards on Avery 8875 business card stock. It is a lot cheaper, you can always change what you are doing and the number of cards you hand out is important. You can hand out 5 times as many for the same price. Use Avery though. I have had trouble with other brands not coming apart easily. There is an advantage to the standard business card format as some people file them. An oddball might get thrown away or lost.

They have been great and people show a lot of interest due to them and talk that bit more when networking. Im in the UK so its £10 per 100. Great thing is I can have 100 different designs which is neat. With your purchase, you get 10% or 20% off your next order.
