JV Soccer Pix

I have heard that having played the game makes shooting it easier. Well I played soccer all the way through the Div 1 college level and if that makes it easier then I feel really bad for those that have never played and have to shoot a soccer game.... Anyways, here are a few shots from a recent game as I try to learn how to photograph the game rather than play it.......Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

You're not joking! I'm a teacher and I coached football and wrestling before I became the yearbook advisor. Working on the yearbook is how I got into photography. I have a MUCH easier time taking football and wrestling photos over other sports.

Nice shots. In general the more you know your subject the better your results will be. I notice that when shooting soccer or lacrosse, both sports I've played, my timing of the photos are much better just because I have a better sense of when and where things are going to happen. The other day I shot BMX for the first time and noticed that I keep missing the more impressive parts of the tricks because I wasn't familiar with the sport.
