Reading through the forum earlier today, I came across a bunch of references to other postings. (You know the kind: "This was already discussed here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/...e+300​+rev iew".)

It would be really nice if we could see the title of the article in the tool-tip when you hover the mouse over the link.

I'm not sure what to do for links to outside POTN, but to links within I think it would be very helpful to see if the linked content was actually relevant. It would also help with those "This is a followup to my earlier posting: http://..." -- yeah, like I remember your earlier post's URL.

The system already does some smart stuff with tooltips - putting the first few lines of a post in the article title when you're on the forum page. This shouldn't be too difficult to add.

Any thoughts?

That feature can't be added to the forum, even if it was a plugin (Pekka has a policy of running the forum software without any changes being made to it).

However, you can sort out the links properly, by inserting a URL code:-

[URL=http://photograph​y-on-the.net/forum/showpost​.php?p=1193134&postcou​nt=2]Take a look at this interesting post[/URL]

Would turn out as Take a look at this interesting post - which looks more appealing...
