Shot at the Tuesday night game. I was in the upper seats and had to crop a bit to get to this. Shot with a 70-200 f4. I ran the ap to 4.5 and 5.6 to see how the 100-400 would do and I think I will still have 600 to 800 Shutter speeds. C&C welcome.

please make the pics a bit larger if you can. They also look like they could be brightened a bit in post.

They are saved to a good size on my desktop. When I send them over to Photobucket they are being reduced. Not sure why.

look a little under exposed. You may want to try 1600 ISO with the 40D. Then run through NR and they will look great!!

Photo 4 has the action, puck & players face. And the best crop.

Some rinks have really bad lighting. Your lucky that there was no netting that you had to shoot through.

How many more games are you going to shoot this session

This was 1600 and ran thru NN. I guess I just darkened them to much, they looked to bright at first. We have tickets to one more game and I'll be out of town for it. This was at the far end so I was shooting over the net.
Thanks for the reply.

Hey there, nice shots. I'm a Predators season ticket holder so I'm a bit biased. Where did you sit and what lens did you use? I took some shots of the warm up a few games ago and they looked awful. Only one or two I considered worth a flip

We're setting in 317 row G. These were shot with a 70-200 F.4 is
Looking at getting a 100-400. should work out better. I think I will still get the shutter speed I need. I have to shot the far end to get the net out of the way. Thus I can't get the faces of our guys.
Thanks Fedxpress

+1 for brightening up the images, they are really dark. If anything, you can drop your SS down a touch and/or bump the ISO to 3200. Getting the exposure, and with a little NR they will still look great.
