Hey,

Quick question, sorry if the wrong section would 2 bodies and my 2 primes be suitable for say a 2nd wedding shooter doing candids? Are f/2.8 zooms essential gear? Have just picked up a 40D and would like to start gaining experience and maybe even pay some gear debt of.

You should really ask the lead, he/she will be the one to decide if you have the right gear. I'd say as a 2nd for me you'd be fine.

Your gear looks fine for a second shooter.
There are plenty of first shooters who're using a similar setup.

5D, 40D, 10-22 EF-S, 35L, 24-105L, 70-200 2.8L
