I hope it's ok I used this title. I just thought it would be good to have one place for everyones I got a new 40D post. If it's not please delete it.

Well I got mine last week. Too bad I have not had time or the weather to try it out. I hope to tonight. From reading the manual it will be a learning curve from what I'm used to. Up graded from D30 (Not 30D) to the 40D.

Congrats on the 40D. There's alot of notible difference from the D30...especially speed (start-up, focus points, low light focusing, picture review, etc). You're gonna love it! I don't think you're gonna have a difficult transition, the menu interface is laid out differently but better IMO.. Happy shootingl

Just got mine in today. Compared to my 400D , its HUGE. Took a while to figure out where everything was, but nothing like using a nikon then a canon lol. Mine was in Chinese when i turned it on, that was fun to read the manual and figure it out.

Definatly a worth while upgrade, now to be broke from spending on L glass!
16-35 , 24-70 , 70-200 are next!

Congrats on your new toy... You may want to purchase a video on it... These guys go through every function of the camera... You'll get a better understanding and learn why certain functions are used.... I purchased it and I don't even have my 40D yet but it will come very soon.... They sell them on Ebay as well and a bit cheaper... I got mine on Ebay for $36.00...

Agree on elitevideo.com. I don't have a 40D yet but found the XTi video very helpful.
