whats the point in getting 450D, when you can get the 40D for similar price with the £100 cashback.

You would have to be really stupid to get 450D now.

I think Canon have let down most of us 40D owners. Apart from the size and fps, how does the 40D command the higher profile?

I think the 40D is great value and best value Canon DSLR on the market

I tend to agree... but the 450D eats into that market somewhat IMO. It's like they are trying to put too much in the entry-level camera, and not enough extra in the xxD series.

In Some ways you could say that about the 40D and 1D MK3 in many circumstances the 40D is so Close to the 1D MK3 in quality of images (until you hit low light) it makes you wonder why they charge so much more, and
before everyone jumps on my head I have owned both, and I know there is a difference in build quality ETC. and weather sealing, added I would always have my 1D MK3 over 40D, but I would have liked to seen some more options that can be added that the 40D had over the 1D MK3 etc.

I wish Canon would take a route like leica are doing, let you upgrade your body with later additions at least one upgrade on I.E, I would like to see a much higher res LCD that is brighter to look at in Sunlight, those little things should set the pro bodies more apart in my View
