Quite a few nice new features.

Good write-up from Rob Galbraith here:

Well, the availability of plug-ins has been a conspicuous oversight. I'm glad to see Apple's investing resources into Aperture.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

With the new plug-in architecture it will be one less reason to boot into photoshop. I was hoping for a Noise Ninja plug-in and now it looks like it's on its way.

Some great features here. I wonder when the next version of LR will release and whether Aperture's enhancements will incentivise Adobe into making their product more than a match for its rival ...

One thing that bothered me about Aperture was that there was no batch editing afaik.

In LR, i just use the copy/paste buttons for applying mass edits--did I miss this somewhere in Aperture?

I also use LR presets far too much--I know there's that little thing you can preset to apply presets but its really tedious as I like to quick preview the preset by just rolling my cursor over each one.

If I can resolve those two, I'll probably go back to aperture.

Lift and stamp tool is great for batch editing lots of pics with the same lighting conditions. The really nice thing about it is, you can easily go into any pic you apply it to and turn off something, like say a vignette - a very fast tool.

Very glad to hear they are specifically working with noise ninja (well, I use neat image, but having it announce that someone's noise reduction is being worked with closely is encouraging).

My only complaint with aperture left is a good cloning/patching type tool. It's alright as it is, but I can work in CS3 far faster. I guess part of it is zoomability (altho, I have not been able to figure out how to zoom say 800% and work there) but the tool itself seems cumbersome. I've recently tried to get back into b&w file photography, and the dust is just a nightmare to deal with sometimes.
