Here's what a foul ball looks like in my viewfinder when it's headed my way -- the image isn't cropped so you see exactly what I saw. If there wasn't an armpit-high protective fence for togs at this ballpark, and not all photo wells have them, I'd have another ugly blue-black bruise today. The ball hit the fence directly in front of me about belly button high.

Jerry ~ Baseball is a game where only defensive players handle the ball and offensive players who hit successfully in only one third of their at bats are among the best in the sport.

I'm glad it missed you Jerry. This one went about a foot over my head last year at Wrigley field in Chicago, it was the last frame I shot before I ducked. I don't like the photo wells that don't have a fence in front of them and are aligned with first and second base. If the second baseman makes a throw to first and the first baseman misses it, that ball is coming into the photo well.

I'm with you on that Chris! My least favorite photo well at any ballpark I've ever shot is the one behind first base at Braves ST. Besides being on a direct line from second to first base togs can't stand in it because we would block the view of fans in the front row. As you know, it's nearly impossible to dodge balls when you're sitting down and the back wall of that well is tattooed with more than a dozen spots where balls hit it.
