Well, I broke down and just did it. Got a great deal. I got a VAIO with the WXGA screen. It looks pretty good so far, but I can tell that it is not the same as my desktop VAIO CRT. I'm actually out of town on business so I can't compare it directly to my CRT, but the colors are slightly different...just based on looking at my photos on my own website.

2 Questions:

Anyone using a VAIO Laptop with WXGA...opinions? Issues?

Any advice on calibrating a laptop LCD?

thanks,
daniel

i've never used an LCD for an extended period of time but i know that for the time being, CRTs are still better for people in the design and photo world who need absolute color integrity. so although you may be able to calibrate it to be better than now, don't expect it to rival your CRT.
