The batter (actually the team catcher) hit a long fly ball that was misplayed by the center fielder. For a stout, stocky guy, this fellow could motor.

It takes some fancy shooting to capture the batter, the fielder, and the batter rounding second on a single play. Jerry ~ Baseball is a game where only defensive players handle the ball and offensive players who hit successfully in only one third of their at bats are among the best in the sport.

Obviously, some overexposure is necessary but one doesn't want to totally blow out the background.
