When we make something truely idiot proof they make a smarter idiot. I want quallity images, not images that look like some average joe shot them (no offence to any board members named joe). I want people to really be impressed with my shots

Beat me to it. Goes hand in hand with "The trouble with fool-proof is that fools are so ingenious".

I should also preface all my comments about under water photography with, I know nothing about the subject.

It's like taking pictures underwater or something . . . does that help?

What is there to learn?!?! P&S=idiot proof!!!

I have seen people confused by their P&S's . . .

I may be dumb, but I'm not scared . . .

Underwater pictures?! Ridiculous :D

Uh huh, and then the people that see a person with an SLR and assume we know EVERYTHING about EVERY camera. Heck, I'm confused by my boss's p&s because the settings are nowhere to be found

Well, like Marc said, wow us with something above water before worrying about going underwater.

LOL. I just assumed that if he were smart enough to use a DSLR he could figure out a P&S.

Well I have never tried it actually, I just can't justify the money on it. (I would much rather save for camera gear, school, and a new Mac)

I totally agree! I would never do that whole fake thing! expecially if it cost me money. if they paid me... maybe. I just usually eat my lunch outside during the summer and I try and get outside whenever I can. which really helps to make it look like I don't work in a basement with no windows ;)

Well, it's not THAT riduculous here in some places. One place did a month unlimited for $30-40. To me that wasn't too bad. I'd just do it for a month and stop. My SIL is CRAZY when it comes to tanning. She buys 6 MONTHS at a time and goes at least every other day.

My guilty expenditure is getting my nails done every three weeks. But, it's not a vanity thing. I pick at my cuticles SO bad if I have natural nails that I make myself bleed. Fake nails make it impossible. Plus, I just have them put a layer of acrylic over my real nails and keep them pretty short so they don't look really fake. I'm lucky though, I have long nail beds so I can pull off short length and still have them look somewhat nice-when I have time to get them painted.

People that tan that much look terrible, their skin looks like leather.

I need to try getting my nails done, I bite my fingers until they bleed as well, it is a very bad habit, and it hurts a lot. I have tried getting my nails done once, and my body rejected them ha ha, they started bubbling and pealing after only a day. But that was a while ago, so I need to try it again. If i do I will do it at the beauty school nearby, because it is only like $5.

Yeah, people that post on photography forums are stupid and not worthy of being impressed. And people who post a lot are even bigger idiots who know nothing. I mean, Jeff is a TERRIBLE photographer who doesn't know a thing. You can tell by his work. And while I'm at it, Marc sucks too. Don't worry about what he says. He has NO idea about anything in photography. And me, I'm an idiot too. I clearly suck so bad that people pay me.

FYI, the average Joe is easily impressed. Photography people take a bit more work to impress. But, only those that don't belong to forums because those people are clearly off their rocker.

Yeah, her wedding pics are kind of funny. She blends into the dark mahogony of the church.

Your body probably rejected them because they weren't done correctly. I've not had many problems with mine. Also, stay away from the Asian places. No offense to them but they are well known for being less than concerned about sanitation and they can really damage your nails because they go so quickly.

Which is why I said I want to impress other people, and besides, how many folks in hear know ANYTHING about u/w photography to tell me whether a shot is technically correct? I'm just saying that people with high post counts aren't always the most informed folks (because of topics like BPAM and this one where photography are only talked about occasionally). I appreciate any help that can be given about u/w shooting BY PEOPLE WITH KNOWLEDGE IN THAT AREA, and I appreciate help with land-based shooting from people that are experienced in THAT field.

I must say, though, it sounds like someone here is having a little problem with their temper. Maybe it would be better for the preggo lady to lay down for a bit to relieve some of her stress
