sevillafox wrote in post #5322703 Hello thread people. I hope everyone's weekend was ok. Mine was less than stunning. Aidan ended up with a wicked cough Friday night so we've been battling that all weekend with me getting the short end of the sleep stick. Oh, well. He was coughing so bad when we were at China buffet yesterday that he trew up all over his plate. His second plate ended up on the floor so he got switched to pudding and ice cream. My purse party was ok last night except that I only knew 2 people so it wasn't too party-like. I felt totally guilted into buying something so I blew $100 on a knock-off designer purse (it was the only thing I liked and I honestly thought there would be purses there less than $50 or I wouldn't have gone.) I feel terribly guilty because another $50 would have had me the grip for my camera. My friends there were trying to make me feel better by telling me that it would be a nice place to carry my camera. Little did they realize that my camera of choice is not a P&S. Corey told me not to feel guilty about it since I rarely spend money on that stuff. So, I guess I learned my lesson and will avoid parties like that in the future. Now, if I could only get the nightmare encounter with the parents last week I'd be all set.I know what you mean Tiff, I always try to avoid those parties because they are not any fun, and you just get guilted into buying expensive stuff that you don't even want. {Brooke}

My weekend sucked, Friday was fun, we went to a stand-up comedy thing. But I had to get up at 5:30 on saturday, so I only got about five hours of sleep. And all of my friends went on a big group date that night, but I am a loser without a date so I was left out. I am just so sick of it, I feel like a huge loser when stuff like that happens, I know that my friends don't intend to hurt me, but they really do sometimes. And today we are not hanging out because everyone else has stuff to do, I am tired of being the loser with nothing to do and no one to do it with. ![]() So yesterday I spent the day by myself, I wrote a letter to my friends who has been gone on a mission for almost two years, but he comes home in about 1.5 months. It will be fun to see him again. And I bought and watched the movie Hitch. That sucks, but I know kind of what you mean (my small circle of friends never have group get-togethers with their gf's). Most of the time they try their hardest to simply get ALONE TIME. Chris

I'm sure you've heard this before (and it drives you crazy) but be patient - the right guy is just around the corner. Hey, I have an idea - is Jeff single? He only lives one state over and you guys could share camera gear. It's a match made in heaven. LOL! way to go. get Brooke hooked up with a POTN'er ~Z

I just need it to last a couple more months until I switch to a mac. I am sure it will be fine, it us just being very temperamental tonight. I have had to restart it likenten times because I'd keeps freezing. Ugh! Sometimes I hate computers, btw I am writing this in my iPhone because I am sick of dealing with the stupid thing.ajbalazic wrote in post #5325594 Morning Z. What kind of a Lego competition? What age group? I've seen competitions on TV and they are very impressive. Any snapshots? I have to say, my weekend was good. We put an offer in on a house, got a counteroffer which we accepted. It's a real beauty - kind of our dream home. We've been in our first home since we got married in 2000 and managed to take a decent chunk out of the mortgage (my dad says not enough). Now we'll be paying for this one for at least 20 more years. My stomach is in knots because our house is going up for sale today and closing day on the other one is June 16th which isn't a lot of time. We're meeting with the bank this afternoon to talk about bridge financing in case we have to carry both mortgages for a while. I don't know anything about bridge financing and frankly I'm really nervous. I'm worried about our asking price (too high, too low), the costs of the new house (higher taxes, utilities), where my boys will go to school. I'm going to give myself an ulser ![]() Wow, congrats on getting the new house. I hope everything goes well with selling your current one sevillafox wrote in post #5325609 Good morning! Alan, thanks for the wishing for twins but an earlier ultrasound has already confirmed that I only have one bun in the oven. ![]() Brooke, sorry your weekend sucked as well. If it makes you feel better, I rarely do anything with friends either. And, my purse is growing on me. It'll be perfect to double as a diaper bag when the little one arrives so that's cool. It's definitely better than the candle party I went to in November. It was just after my friend, Carly, had me do her daughter's pictures and spent $300+ so I felt obligated to buy more than the bare minumum. $45 worth of candles later I still felt like I hadn't spent enough and I really wasted that money since I rarely burn candles. I'm just gearing up for Prom week. I am avoiding the actual event Saturday but I am stuck returning here from 6-9pm tomorrow to supervise decorating. And, I get to deal with all the drama. At least my US saves me from rehearsal and all the bítching about who is walking with who. I just feel bad for the couple of girls who have been pretty much orchestrating everything. They are totally screwed out of any chance of being voted prom queen. Although, I have to laugh as I pretty much picked the grand march music. They were all fighting and angry because all the songs suggested were country. So, I went to my room, got my Metallica CD and hooked them up. They all voted to do the grand march to "Nothing Else Matters." (coincidentally, this is the same song I walked down the aisle to. Well, I used the instrumental version. )Off to accomplish something. Yuck. Have fun with the supervising. It's funny how people can argue and disagree but when one adult suggests something they normally just go "OK" Chris
